I think Twitter will be very beneficial to me as a teacher because it contains tons of resources. I don't have a personal Twitter account, so I never thought of making one for educational purposes. However, it's interesting to see the different types of activities and teaching styles that other teachers have found useful. Some of the sites that other teachers are sharing I remember from school- especially BrainPop!

The digital divide can really affect student success, especially because so many activities, textbooks, and homework are done online now. When I am a teacher, I won't assign outside-of-class activities that require technology in case some of my students don't have access to a computer- no matter what grade I teach. I wouldn't want a student to not succeed simply because they don't have a computer available to them. I would only assign computer work while in class at school, since then all my students would have access to the school computers.

As a teacher, I expect to use educational games the most. I would ideally like to teach 2nd or 3rd grade and I think using games to teach would be most beneficial. I say this because at that age, if they have access to some sort of technology at home they are most likely playing games on it, whether they're educational or just for fun. So, it would be somewhat familiar to them, they'd be learning something, and they'd have fun doing it. The software I don't plan on using is special needs, simply because I don't plan on teaching special needs students, even though that could change.
